Zašto istražujemo Sunce?

Sem toga što je Sunčeva svetlost neophodan preduslov za život koji poznajemo, Sunce je bitno za astrofizičare sa spoznajne tačke gledišta. Blizina Sunca nam omogućava da vršimo posmatranja sa takvom prostornom i vremenskom rezolucijom kakvu posmatranja ostalih zvezda neće dostići u dogledno vreme. Na ovoj tribini razgovaraćemo o tome čemu nam sve služi ova najbolja astrofizička „nebeska laboratorija“, šta sve mogu moderne misije i teleskopi za posmatranje Sunca, a pomenućemo i neke neobjašnjene fenomene i otvorena pitanja u fizici Sunca.
